The Gjemeni Story
We’ve promoted the couch to a new position. Actually, almost an infinite number of them.
You see, there are tens of millions of couches on the planet, but they all have the same basic
problem. Whether it’s a Louis XVI sofa from 1776 or the Saarinen womb settee from 1946.
You have to adjust your body to their limits.
Scrunch. Fidget. Squirm. Why should our spines have to sacrifice for a lack of couch
That’s what inspired us to create Gjemeni.
We assembled a cross-disciplinary team of designers, engineers and kinesiologists to create a
couch that can be quickly and easily adjusted for comfort and for what the moment demands.
The sides go up and down independently, as does the two-part back.
In seconds it goes from a party place, to a bed that can sleep two, to a perfect spot for some
deep meditative recharging.
And Gjemeni is just the beginning. Expect lots of new ideas, as we continue our mission to take
a big fresh look at the greatest challenges of living, sleeping and being in the modern world.
